The Association for the Teaching English as a Foreign Language in Indonesia facts for kids
TEFLIN is a group in Indonesia that helps teachers who teach English to students who speak other languages. This is often called "English as a Foreign Language" (EFL). TEFLIN is like a club for these teachers, helping them learn new ways to teach and share ideas.
How TEFLIN Started
TEFLIN began a long time ago, in 1972. It started with a small group of teachers who met to talk about teaching English.
By 1982, TEFLIN became a more organized group. It was officially formed by nine different universities and teaching colleges. These included:
- IKIP Yogyakarta
- IKIP Sanata Dharma

Annual Conference
Every year, TEFLIN holds a big meeting called an annual conference. At this conference, teachers and experts share new ideas about teaching English. They present papers, listen to special speakers, and join workshops to learn new skills. It's also a chance for teachers to meet each other and make new friends.
TEFLIN held its very first international conference in 2003. This means people from all over the world came to share their knowledge.
