The Big Welsh Bite Food Festival started in 2003. It takes place every August. The festival is held in a lovely spot called Ynysangharad War Memorial Park. This park is special because it also has the National Lido of Wales, which is a cool swimming pool. There's also a waterside café and a bandstand where music is played.

This festival is really popular! About 20,000 people visit over just two days. That makes it a huge event for the town of Pontypridd. Ynysangharad Park is right next to the River Taff. You can see many traditional terraced houses nearby, which are common in the South Wales Valleys.

The Welsh Government has also helped the festival through its Food Festival Grant Scheme.
