List of Seinfeld episodes

"The Calzone" is a funny episode from the TV show Seinfeld. It's the 130th episode and aired on April 25, 1996. In this episode, George Costanza tries to impress his boss with food. Elaine Benes goes on confusing "not-dates." And Kramer finds a strange way to warm his clothes.

George and the Calzone

George Costanza's boss, Mr. Steinbrenner, loves George's lunch: a calzone. A calzone is like a folded pizza. Mr. Steinbrenner asks George to bring him one every day. This makes George very important to his boss.

George gets upset at the restaurant, Paisano's. He thinks the owner isn't seeing him put money in the tip jar. George tries to get his money back. The owner sees him and thinks George is stealing! George gets banned from the restaurant.

Now George can't get the calzones for his boss. He asks Newman, a mailman, for help. Newman agrees to pick up the calzones. George has to pay for them all.

Elaine's Confusing Dates

Elaine goes to dinner with a guy named Todd Gack. He lost a bet to her about an actor in Star Wars. Jerry thinks Todd made up the bet. Jerry believes Todd just wanted to go out with Elaine without asking her on a real date.

Todd offers to sell Jerry some cigars. This gives him another reason to see Elaine. But the cigars are not from where Todd said they were. Todd keeps saying he's not dating Elaine. He even takes her to dinner with his parents!

Jerry's girlfriend, Nicki, is very good at getting what she wants. Jerry asks her to help him with Todd and the cigars. But when Todd meets Nicki, he asks her out instead. Elaine feels like she has been left out.

Kramer's Warm Clothes

Kramer starts wearing only clothes that are warm. He likes them straight from the dryer. When he runs out of money for the dryer, he uses ovens to warm his clothes.

One day, Newman calls in sick because it's raining. George needs a calzone for his boss. He asks Kramer to get it. Kramer gets wet in the rain. He puts his clothes in the pizza oven at Paisano's. His clothes get burned!

Kramer tries to pay for the calzones with small change. The restaurant turns him away. Kramer goes to George's office to tell him what happened. He drops his burnt clothes by a vent. The smell of the burnt clothes goes into Mr. Steinbrenner's office.

Mr. Steinbrenner thinks the smell is from calzones. He runs to George's office. He then realizes the smell is from Kramer's burnt clothes. George has to buy calzones from a different restaurant.

Behind the Scenes

The writers, Alec Berg and Jeff Schaffer, got the idea for the episode from their own lives. They were getting calzones and felt their tip went unnoticed. Kramer's funny Italian speech was not planned. The actor, Michael Richards, made it up during filming.
