The Sphere: A Unique Cleveland Building
This building is known for its special windows. They open outwards, which makes the building look a bit like an old factory. However, it has always been used as apartments. The Sphere also has a swimming pool on its roof!
Who Designed The Sphere?
The building was designed by a famous architect named Charles Luckman. He designed many other well-known buildings. Some of his other projects include:
- The Aon Center (Los Angeles) in Los Angeles
- The Los Angeles Convention Center
- Madison Square Garden in New York City
- The AmTrust Financial Building also in Cleveland
Renovations and New Beginnings
In 2001, the outside of the building got a big makeover. This made it look fresh and new.
Later, around 2011, the building needed more attention. There were some issues that needed to be fixed, like problems with the structure and plumbing. After these issues were addressed and the building was improved, it was given a new name: "The Sphere."
