Reserve Square is a large complex with two tall buildings in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, USA. These buildings are called skyscrapers because they are so high. Each building has 23 floors and stands about 266 feet (81 meters) tall.

This complex is a mixed-use building. This means it has different types of spaces inside. It has apartments where people live, and it also has offices or businesses. Reserve Square is located right next to the Bohn Towers, which are homes for older adults.

The complex was first known as The Park Center. It was part of a bigger plan for Cleveland called the Erieview Plan. This plan aimed to create more places for people to live in downtown Cleveland. By the 1970s, with buildings like Reserve Square finished, this goal was partly met.

Building History: Reserve Square's Story

The West Tower of Reserve Square was built in 1969. The East Tower followed a few years later in 1973. A Cleveland company called Dalton-Dalton-Newport-Little designed these buildings. This company was once very famous around the world for its designs.

The look of Reserve Square was inspired by a building called Unité d'Habitation. This building was designed by a famous architect named Le Corbusier. It was known for its unique inside spaces and how it used very little ground space. Reserve Square's design uses raw cement, which is a style called Brutalism.

West Tower Changes

For many years, the West Tower had an Embassy Suites Hotel inside it. This hotel was a popular place for visitors. However, in 2012, the hotel closed its doors. After that, the West Tower was changed back into apartments for people to live in.

TV Studios in the Tower

Did you know that television stations are located in Reserve Square? Cleveland TV stations WOIO and WUAB have their broadcast studios on the first floor of the building. They have been there since 1994, when they became the CBS TV station in Cleveland.

New Owners for Reserve Square

In 2005, a company called The K & D Group bought the apartment tower for $36 million. Later that same year, they also bought the hotel part of the complex for $5.1 million. This made them the new owners of Reserve Square.
