In this adventure, Frank and Joe Hardy, along with their friend Chet, meet a rich man named Albert Krassner. Mr. Krassner is a balloonist, and he owns something very special: the Ruby King.
The Ruby King is a valuable, life-sized chess piece. It's the grand prize for a big chess tournament. Soon, the boys discover that a dangerous gang wants to steal this precious Ruby King.
Suddenly, the Ruby King mysteriously vanishes from Mr. Krassner's safe! This sends the Hardy Boys on a thrilling journey. Their search for the missing chess piece leads them all the way to Hong Kong.
In Hong Kong, the Hardy brothers work hard to solve the mystery. They manage to track down the gang responsible for the theft. After a lot of detective work, they capture the thieves and successfully find the Ruby King.
