The CIA at Copia is a place where people can learn all about food and drinks. It's right next to a cool market called Oxbow Public Market. This campus, along with another one called The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, makes up the school's California locations.

The land for the Copia campus was bought by the Culinary Institute of America in 2015. Before that, it was a museum called Copia from 2001 to 2008. When it opened as the CIA at Copia, it started offering new programs. These include a special school for food businesses and quick cooking courses.

The Copia building is quite large. Outside, there's a big outdoor theater that can hold 1,000 people. There are also many different gardens to explore.

Inside, you'll find a 250-seat theater called the Theater at Copia. This theater is used for talks and is a main spot for the Napa Valley Film Festival. It also hosts events for food and wine experts. The school offers hands-on cooking classes in special teaching kitchens.

There's also a smaller 72-seat theater, the Napa Valley Vintners Theater. Here, you can watch daily food and wine classes. Experts and instructors often give live cooking demonstrations. This theater can also be used for private meetings or events.

The CIA at Copia also has a program called "ACAP." This is a one-year course where you can get a certificate in Culinary Arts.

Dining and Shopping

The building has a 90-seat restaurant. It used to be a restaurant inspired by the famous chef Julia Child. Now, the restaurant at CIA Copia serves dishes meant for sharing. The food is often made with fresh ingredients from the Napa Valley and the CIA gardens. You can also enjoy special drinks or wines with your meal. There are three private dining rooms available too.

Copia also has a casual outdoor patio called Grove. It has a wood-burning oven and a bar. It's a great spot to relax outside.

If you like to shop, there's a store on site. You can find cooking tools, pottery made by local artists, and items for your home and garden. They also sell books, knives, and glassware. Sometimes, the store even has cooking demonstrations or book signings.

Special Collections

The CIA at Copia is home to a special collection of rare and fine wines. It also has the Chuck Williams Culinary Arts Museum. This museum has about 4,000 old cooking items. It's like a treasure chest for food history!
