The Story of The Dragonfly Pool
Tally's New Adventure
The main character is a girl named Talitha Hamilton, but everyone calls her Tally. Her dad is the town's kind doctor, and Tally loves her life. She gets along with everyone and is very happy.
Then, World War II begins, and everything changes. Tally is sad to learn she has to leave home. Her father wants her to go to a special English boarding school called Delderton to keep her safe.
Life at Delderton School
When Tally arrives at Delderton, she quickly realizes it's not like any other school. It's a very creative and free place! The dancing teacher encourages students to move like seeds growing into plants. The mysterious biology teacher, Matteo, even takes them on nature walks very early in the morning.
Tally soon feels right at home. She makes many new friends and even plans a trip for them. They decide to go to a big dancing festival in a country called Bergania.
Prince Karil and a Royal Friendship
Meanwhile, in Bergania, there's a lonely boy named Prince Karil. He is a prince, but he really wishes he could be a normal kid and have friends. He doesn't like wearing fancy clothes or going to so many formal events.
Karil often finds peace at a quiet spot called the Dragonfly Pool. One day, he meets Tally there. They become friends right away. But then, something terrible happens: Karil's father, the King, is attacked. This forces Karil to quickly leave his home.
A Dangerous Journey Home
Karil has to escape with Tally and her friends to England. It turns out that the attack on the King was planned by a dangerous group, and they take over Bergania.
To protect Prince Karil, the group of dancers quickly pretend he is part of their team. They try to get him safely back to their school. On their journey, they face many dangers and attempts to capture Karil. But they are clever and manage to get away each time.
Finally, they reach England, safe and sound. Prince Karil is then looked after by his grandfather.
