The Ghost at Skeleton Rock is the 37th book in the original The Hardy Boys Mystery Stories series. These popular books were published by Grosset & Dunlap.

This exciting mystery was written in 1957 for the Stratemeyer Syndicate by James Duncan Lawrence. He also wrote many books in the Tom Swift Jr. series. Over the years, many of the early Hardy Boys books were updated. This book was shortened in 1966 by Priscilla Baker-Carr. This means there are two slightly different versions of the story with the same title.
