The Hive is a fun British computer-animated children's television series all about a family of bees! It first aired in September 2010 on channels like Playhouse Disney (which is now called Disney Junior) and Tiny Pop. The first season has 78 episodes, each about 7 minutes long. A second season of the show came out in 2014. Many different companies worked together to make "The Hive," including DQ Entertainment and Lupus Films.

The show also aired in Australia on ABC2. In that version, the voice of Buzzbee was done by Harry Collett. Rubee is Buzzbee's older sister; she's two years older than him. Sometimes she might seem a bit rude, but she really loves her little brother.

  • Pappa Bee: He is the father of Buzzbee, Rubee, and Babee, and Mamma Bee's husband. Papa Bee often relaxes on the sofa, reading his newspaper.
  • Grandma Bee: She is the grandmother of Buzzbee, Rubee, and Babee, and Grandpa Bee's wife. Grandma Bee looks after the children when Mamma Bee is out.
  • Grandpa Bee: He is the grandfather of Buzzbee, Rubee, and Babee, and Grandma Bee's husband. Grandpa Bee often gives Buzzbee treats and tells him exciting stories.
  • Jump: This is Grandma and Grandpa Bee's pet flea. Jump is super energetic and loves to jump around a lot!
  • Jasper: He's a mischievous wasp who enjoys playing tricks on his friends. Jasper is one of Buzzbee's best friends. He can be a bit sarcastic and sometimes calls Barnabee a "slowworm."
  • Barnabee: A loyal and honest bee who is another one of Buzzbee's best friends. He wears glasses.
  • Debee: Rubee's best friend. She has freckles and brown pigtails.
  • Miss Ladybird: She is Buzzbee's kind teacher at Honeydew School.
  • Postman Spider: A friendly postman who is good friends with Buzzbee.
  • Katypillar: A caterpillar who takes care of and plants beautiful flowers.
  • Mr Millipede: A millipede who works as a mechanic, fixing things.
  • Doctor Beetle: A beetle who is the doctor in Honey Farm.
  • Millice and Vince: Two ants who work together at the Anthill Store.
  • Lord Bartlebee Buzz: A lord who is usually kind, even if he seems a bit snobbish at first. He is the Queen Bee's personal helper.

  • Snail: A student at Honeydew School. He hides in his shell when he gets scared.

  • Worm: A quiet and sometimes annoying worm who appears in every episode and in the ending credits.
  • Birds: Two birds that appear in every episode on a nearby tree.
  • Clara Bee: The cleaner at Honeydew School. She is only mentioned, never seen.
  • Worker Bees: Three bees who are always busy collecting pollen from the Flower Field.
