He promises not to come back until he is as tall as she is.

Lady Daffodilia feels very sad when the Prince leaves. She is lonely without him to play with or tease. She tries to become as smart as Prince Brilliant. But she finds it very hard and doesn't succeed. Later, some people believe she is to blame for the Prince's absence. They put her in an old, lonely castle, which becomes her prison. While there, Lady Daffodilia spends her time becoming a wonderful gardener.
