A Look Back: The Hotel's Story
How the Langham Hotel Started
The hotel first opened its doors on November 1, 2010. Back then, it was called The Setai Fifth Avenue. A company named Bizzi & Partners Development built it.
New Owners and New Names
In 2012, a company from Hong Kong called Great Eagle Holdings bought the hotel. They paid a lot of money for it! Great Eagle Holdings decided to manage the hotel themselves.
So, on May 7, 2013, they changed its name to Langham Place, Fifth Avenue. Later, in December 2017, they changed the name one more time to what it is today: The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue.
The Building: What It Looks Like
Design and Materials
The building at 400 Fifth Avenue is very tall and impressive. The bottom part, which is 11 floors high, is made of limestone. It has a cool design that looks a bit like the Art Deco style.
