What Happens in the Story?
This story brings back Annabelle Doll and Tiffany Funcraft. They are the main characters from the first book. Annabelle and Tiffany get into a bit of trouble. They try to hide from their owner, Kate Palmer. They decide to hide inside Kate's backpack.
A Trip to School
The dolls are accidentally taken to school in the backpack. At school, they explore the new place. They find another backpack and think it is Kate's. But it turns out to be the backpack of a different kid named BJ. Annabelle and Tiffany are then taken to BJ's house.
Meeting New Toys
At BJ's house, they meet more toys. These toys belong to BJ's sister, Callie. The toys include Waterfall, Melody, Yvonne, Penny, and Beth. They also meet a very bossy doll. This doll is Princess Mimi, but the other toys call her Mean Mimi. Mean Mimi tries to tell Annabelle and Tiffany what to do.
Escaping Mean Mimi
Annabelle and Tiffany manage to get away from Mean Mimi. They sneak back into BJ's backpack. Their plan is to return to school. From there, they hope to get back into Kate's backpack. Then they can finally go home to their worried families. What they do not know is that Mean Mimi has followed them.
Mimi's Tricks at Home
Mean Mimi pretends to be sad and cries. She tricks the Doll and Funcraft families. They let her stay with them at the Palmers' house. But Mimi is actually trying to cause problems for them. She tries to wake up Kate. Mimi wants Kate to see a mess she made. She hopes Kate will blame Annabelle and Tiffany.
The Permanent Doll State
Later, Nora, Kate's little sister, sees Mean Mimi. Mimi jumps off Kate's bookshelf. She is trying to show that the other dolls are alive. Because of this risky action, Mimi goes into Permanent Doll State. This means dolls cannot come back to life. It happens when they put all dollkind at risk.
Where Mimi Ends Up
The story ends with Mean Mimi still in Permanent Doll State. She is taken back to Kate's school. She ends up in the lost and found box.
