Unraveling the Mystery of the Fire Dragon
This book follows Nancy Drew as she helps solve a puzzling missing-person case. Her adventure takes her from New York City all the way to Hong Kong. Nancy uses her clever mind and detective skills to find clues and solve the mystery.
What Happens in the Story?
Nancy Drew gets a call from her Aunt Eloise to come to New York City. A kind Chinese author, Mr. Soong, needs help. His granddaughter, Chi Che, has gone missing. Nancy quickly starts her search to find Chi Che.
Nancy and her friends, Bess and George, work together. George Fayne even pretends to be Chi Che to gather information. They visit a bookstore where Chi Che used to work. The owner, Mr. Stromberg, seems very suspicious to Nancy.
Danger and New Clues Emerge
Nancy decides to visit the bookstore again. As she walks along the street, a vase falls and hits her head. Nancy becomes unconscious for a short time. While she is recovering, Bess and George continue the search. Soon, a man with red hair is arrested in connection with the case.
The mystery leads the girls to follow a series of clues. These clues take them on a long journey to Hong Kong. Nancy's boyfriend, Ned Nickerson, joins them there to help.
Nancy's Clever Escape and the Final Clue
Nancy makes a risky move by following someone she thinks is Chi Che onto a plane. She ends up being kidnapped herself! But Nancy is very smart. She uses her lipstick to write a message on the plane windows, signaling for help.
After being rescued, Nancy finds more clues. These clues point to a group of people involved in international smuggling. Nancy uses George's disguise skills once more. This helps to trick the thieves and make them show themselves. Finally, Nancy gets the chance to find the missing girl, Chi Che.
