The Noise (game show) facts for kids
The Noise is an exciting American children's game show that aired on Universal Kids from October 23, 2017, to January 25, 2018. The show was hosted by Faruq Tauheed, known for his energetic announcements on BattleBots.
How to Play The Noise
This game show challenges two teams of two kids. They compete in fun tasks that test their skill, speed, and ability to be super quiet! The main goal is to finish each task without making too much noise. The quieter a team is, the more points they earn.
The Main Challenge
Each challenge has a special "Noise-O-Meter." This meter tracks how loud the sounds get. If a team makes too much noise and the Noise-O-Meter reaches its highest level, they automatically lose that challenge.
There are three rounds in the main game:
- The first round is worth up to five points.
- The second round can earn a team up to ten points.
- The third round is worth up to 20 points.
Teams can earn a total of 35 points. The team with the most points at the end of three rounds wins! The winning team then moves on to a special bonus round called the "Run of the House." Losing teams still get cool consolation prizes.
The Run of the House
The winning team gets three minutes to race through a special house. This house has five different rooms, each filled with tricky, noisy obstacles. In each room, there's a prize waiting. The very last room has a mystery prize!
The team's main job is to find two hidden puzzle pieces of the show's logo. They must do this without making too much noise. If they successfully find a piece quietly, they win the prize for that room. But watch out! If the team makes too much noise in any room, they lose that room's prize. They also lose the chance to win the big $5,000 grand prize. Even if they make noise, they still move on to the next room.
Teams can skip a room and come back to it later if they have time left. If the team can get through all five rooms quietly and before time runs out, they win $5,000 and all five prizes! No matter what happens, the winning team always keeps any prizes they won in this round.
Here are some of the tricky rooms and obstacles:
- Living Room: Players might climb over beanbag chairs, crawl through boxes, or carefully remove items like firewood or a coin collection.
- Bedroom: Teams might dig through a toy chest, or gently remove picture frames or plastic hangers.
- Kitchen: Players could remove pots and pans, dig through groceries, or carefully take pieces from jars of candy.
- Bathroom: Challenges include arranging metal cans, moving through a shower curtain, or finding pieces in boxes of glass marbles or seashells.
- Attic: Teams might walk on bubble wrap, move pieces through a chandelier, or dig through Christmas ornaments or flower pots.
Celebrity Episodes
Sometimes, special celebrity episodes of The Noise aired. In these shows, losing teams still received $2,500 for their chosen charities. If a celebrity team won the bonus round, they earned $10,000 for their favorite charities. Each room in the "Run of the House" was worth a certain amount of money instead of prizes.
