The Piermaster's House is a special old building in Liverpool, England. It's located at the famous Albert Dock. This house was built a long time ago, in 1852. It was made for the piermaster and his family to live in.
A piermaster was a very important person. They were in charge of the docks. They made sure ships came and went safely. They also managed the goods being loaded and unloaded.
Today, the Piermaster's House is part of the Museum of Liverpool. Inside, you can see what a home looked like in the 1940s during wartime. It helps visitors imagine life back then. In 2019, over 89,000 people visited this interesting house.
A New Chapter for the House
Since 2022, the Piermaster's House has been undergoing changes. It is being redeveloped along with its nearby buildings, Mermaid House and the Cooperage. These buildings are being turned into places where people can enjoy food and drinks. This means the historic house will have a new purpose for visitors to the Albert Dock.
