The Randies facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Randies were an exciting punk rock band with all female members, formed in Los Angeles, California. They became quite famous, even appearing in Blender magazine and being chosen as the featured artists on Fender's website. The band released two full music albums and created two music videos from their second album. They loved to travel and perform, often touring for months before returning to California. One of their biggest shows was at the Vans Warped Tour in the summer of 2008.

The band stopped playing together after April 2009. This happened because their van, which held all their instruments and equipment, was stolen in Silverlake, California. This unfortunate event occurred the night before a planned concert.

Meet The Randies: Band Members

The Randies had several talented musicians over the years.

  • Sienna DeGovia played the bass guitar. She also sang both lead and backup vocals for the band.
  • Laura Cataldo played the rhythm guitar. She also provided backup vocals.
  • Laurita Guaico Harrison played the lead guitar. She also sang both lead and backup vocals.

Past Drummers of The Randies

The drummer on their last recorded album was Aaron Polk, but he later left the band. Joel Ronamoe, who also played with Duane Peters Gunfight, was their last touring drummer. For their 2008 tour, Tosha Jones joined as the drummer. Tosha had previously played with Emerson Rose. In 2018, Tosha joined the band Saliva. Other past members include Megan McCarter on guitar and Mark Powell (from Kosmos Express and The Get Set) on drums.

Awards and Nominations

The Randies were recognized for their music. They were nominated for an award at the 8th Annual Independent Music Awards. Their song "Change The Conversation" was considered for Punk Song of the Year. Being nominated means their song was one of the best in its category that year.
