The Snaffling Pig Co began in December 2013. Its founder, Nick Coleman, made a fun bet with Udhi Silva. They challenged each other to see who could grow a company to £1 million in sales first. They started with only £500. The winner would get a steak dinner!
Early Growth and Big Ideas
At first, Snaffling Pig's sales were slow. But things changed in 2016 with a clever idea. They created the world's first pork scratching advent calendar. This special calendar had 24 bags of different pork crackling flavors. It was a huge hit, getting over 10,000 orders. Thanks to these advent calendars, The Snaffling Pig Co sells 2.1 million packets of crackling every year.
Appearing on Dragons' Den
In 2016, the company appeared on a TV show called Dragons’ Den. This show lets new businesses ask for money from successful investors, called 'Dragons'. The Snaffling Pig Co got a £70,000 investment from one of the 'Dragons', Nick Jenkins.
Awards and Funding
The Snaffling Pig Co has won several awards. In 2017, they won the Virgin 'Foodpreneur' award. The prize was a special shop space for six weeks at the Lakeside Shopping Centre. In 2018, they were a finalist for the Consumer Business of the Year award.

In February 2022, The Snaffling Pig Co temporarily took a specific batch of their Perfectly Salted Pork Scratchings off shelves. This was due to a quality issue, which was quickly resolved to ensure customer safety.

The Guild of Fine Food has given The Snaffling Pig Co many awards. They have won a total of 12 Great Taste Awards for their snacks.
