The Warren Haynes Christmas Jam is a special music event. It's like a big concert marathon. Famous musician Warren Haynes organizes it. This concert helps people during the holiday season. The first show was called "The Christmas Jam: Musician's X-Mas Reunion." It happened on December 22, 1988. It was at a local club called 45 Cherry in Asheville. The event grew bigger every year. Now it's called "Warren Haynes Presents: The Christmas Jam." Tickets for the show usually sell out very quickly. Because it grew so much, it is now held at the U.S. Cellular Center. This place was once known as the Asheville Civic Center. Many artists and friends Warren Haynes has played with have performed. These include The Allman Brothers Band, The Avett Brothers, The Doobie Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Peter Frampton, John Paul Jones, Ray LaMontagne, Steve Miller Band, and Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Helping Others: The Charity Mission
At first, the Christmas Jam helped different charities. These included groups like the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation. They also helped AIDS charities and homeless relief groups. In 1988, Warren Haynes decided to focus on Habitat for Humanity. For many years, money from the Jam has helped build new houses. These houses are made to save energy. Many houses have been built. The Jam also helps buy land for new Habitat neighborhoods. The event recently gave a very large amount of money to Habitat for Humanity. This was one of the biggest gifts the organization had ever received.
