Thicketty is a small community in Cherokee County, South Carolina, in the United States. It's also sometimes spelled Thickety. This community is not a city with its own government. It is located between the towns of Gaffney and Cowpens. You can find it along U.S. Route 29. Thicketty is about 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Spartanburg.
History of Thicketty
The community of Thicketty has a long history. A post office was first opened here in 1837. This means people could send and receive mail in the area. The community got its name from a nearby natural landmark. This landmark is called Thicketty Mountain.
