Story of the Diesels' Day
The adventure begins when a new engine, Belle, bravely puts out a fire. Thomas and Percy help her get to the Steamworks. Sir Topham Hatt praises Belle and decides they need another fire engine. Belle suggests Flynn, a fire engine from the Mainland. Soon, Flynn is on his way to Sodor.
Percy's Jealousy and Diesel 10's Plan
As Thomas spends more time with Belle, Percy starts to feel left out and a bit jealous. Instead of taking Flynn's hose to the Search and Rescue Centre, Percy follows Diesel to the Sodor Dieselworks. There, he meets Diesel 10, a sneaky diesel engine with a big plan. Diesel 10 wants to take over the Steamworks! He tells Percy that Sir Topham Hatt hasn't been listening to his concerns about the Dieselworks. Percy, feeling ignored by Thomas, thinks he might be able to help the diesels.
Flynn Arrives and Missing Hose
Flynn arrives on Sodor and everyone at the Steamworks is excited to see him. Percy tries to tell Thomas about the Dieselworks, but Thomas is busy showing Flynn around. The next day, Percy goes back to the Dieselworks and finds they need a crane. He returns to the Steamworks, hoping to find Thomas, but only Kevin, the Steamworks crane, is there. Percy tells Kevin about the problem. Just then, Thomas arrives, worried because Flynn's hose is missing. Thomas doesn't listen to Percy's attempts to explain.
Kevin's Trip to the Dieselworks
As it gets dark, Percy searches for the missing hose without luck. He returns to Tidmouth Sheds and finds Flynn there. Determined to help the diesels, Percy takes Kevin to the Dieselworks. Diesel 10 is very happy to have a new crane, and the Dieselworks quickly gets cleaned up. Diesel 10 then tells Percy to bring Thomas to the Dieselworks so he can explain his plans directly. Percy agrees and stays the night at the Dieselworks.
The Diesel Takeover and a Fire
The next morning, Percy learns Thomas has been looking for him. Gordon tells them Kevin is missing. Percy explains where Kevin is, and Thomas says they need to tell Victor, the boss at the Steamworks. When Victor finds out, he goes to tell Sir Topham Hatt.
Percy returns to the Dieselworks and tells Diesel 10 that Thomas will be there soon. When Thomas arrives, Diesel 10 tricks him, sending him and Kevin to a back shed. Diesel 10 then tells Percy to lead the diesels to the Steamworks, claiming they will just show Sir Topham Hatt how important they are. But when they arrive, Percy is shocked! Diesel 10 has been lying, and the diesels cause chaos at the Steamworks. Percy can't stop them.
To make things worse, Percy finds a fire at the Dieselworks. He races to the Rescue Centre for Belle and Flynn. Belle reminds him that Flynn's hose is still missing. Together, they rush back to the Dieselworks.
Working Together to Save the Day
At the Dieselworks, Belle and Flynn put out the fire. Percy, Thomas, and Kevin are freed. They all gather their friends to take back the Steamworks. The steam engines promise Diesel 10 they will help fix the Dieselworks if the diesels give back the Steamworks.
Just then, Sir Topham Hatt arrives, very angry with Diesel 10. He orders Diesel 10 to fix everything he damaged. Percy, Thomas, and Kevin explain about the Dieselworks, and Sir Topham Hatt reveals he had a plan to fix it all along, but things take time. Once the Dieselworks is repaired, Sir Topham Hatt reopens it. He says it's a special place because both steam engines and diesel engines worked together to fix it.
