Thomas Randolph, 2nd Earl of Moray (died 11 August 1332) was a Scottish military leader. He held the important title of Earl of Moray for only 23 days.

Thomas Randolph followed in his father's footsteps. His father, also named Thomas Randolph, was the 1st Earl of Moray. He was a close friend and trusted fighter for Robert the Bruce, a famous Scottish king. Young Thomas became the Earl of Moray on July 20, 1332, after his father passed away.

A Short Time as Earl

Thomas Randolph's time as an Earl was very brief. He quickly took on a major role in the Scottish army.

Leading the Scottish Forces

As a new Earl, Thomas Randolph was given a high command. He served under the Earl of Mar, who was leading the Scottish army. Their mission was to fight against the forces of Edward Balliol. Edward Balliol was trying to become the King of Scotland, which many Scots did not want.

The Battle of Dupplin Moor

The two armies met at a place called Dupplin Moor. This battle took place on August 11, 1332. It was a very important fight for Scotland's future. Sadly, during this battle, Thomas Randolph was killed. He did not have any children.
