Thomas Wendy (born around 1499 or 1500 – died May 11, 1560) was an important doctor for the English royal family. He was the personal physician to Henry VIII of England, a member of the Parliament of England, and a close advisor in the King's Privy Chamber.

Thomas Wendy was with King Henry VIII when he died. He was also one of the people who saw the King sign his last will. Dr. Wendy is known for helping Catherine Parr, King Henry's last wife. He told her about plans by others, like Thomas Wriothesley and Bishop Stephen Gardiner, who wanted to cause trouble for the Queen. Wendy had become Queen Catherine Parr's doctor before October 1546. People believe he supported the Protestant religion.

Dr. Wendy continued to serve as the royal physician for Henry's children. He worked for King Edward VI and later for Queen Mary I.

Thomas Wendy studied at Cambridge University. This was a very important place for learning in England. His education helped him become a skilled doctor.

A Member of Parliament

Besides being a doctor, Thomas Wendy was also involved in politics. He was chosen to be a Member of the Parliament of England. He represented the area of St Albans in April 1554. The next year, in 1555, he represented Cambridgeshire. Being a Member of Parliament meant he helped make laws for the country.

Later Life and Death

Thomas Wendy passed away on May 11, 1560. He died at Haslingfield, which was a large estate. King Henry VIII had given this estate to him.
