Tiah's Football Journey
Tiah has Indigenous Australian heritage from her father's family. She started playing Australian rules football when she was young. Her first experience with the sport was through the Auskick program.
Early Draft and Injury
In 2014, Tiah was first chosen in the draft by the Western Bulldogs. She was the very first pick that year. However, just six days after being drafted, she had a serious knee injury. This injury was so bad that it threatened her football career. Because of this, the Western Bulldogs later removed her from their team.
Playing for Fremantle
Toth was drafted again in 2016 by the Fremantle Football Club. She was their fifth choice and the thirty-sixth player picked overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft.
She played her first game in the 2017 AFL Women's season against the Western Bulldogs. This game was at VU Whitten Oval. Tiah played in the first three matches of that season. However, she then missed the rest of the year because of a shoulder injury. After the 2018 season, Fremantle decided not to keep her on their team.
Return to AFLW
Tiah did not give up on her dream. She played very well for Subiaco in the WAFL Women's league. Because of her strong performance, Fremantle re-drafted her in the 2020 AFL Women's draft. She returned to play for the AFLW team in the first game of the 2021 AFL Women's season.
On June 5, 2021, it was announced that Tiah had signed a new contract with the Dockers. In April 2022, Fremantle again decided to remove her from their team.
Family and Football
Tiah's father, John Haynes, was also a football player. He played 54 games for the Perth team in the WAFL.
