Tibor Pleiß (born 2 November 1989) is a German professional basketball player. He currently plays for Trapani Shark in Italy. Tibor is very tall, standing at 7 feet 3 inches (2.21 meters). He plays in the center position, which is usually for the tallest players on a team. He has also played for the German national team.

Early Life and Background
Tibor Pleiß was born in Bergisch Gladbach, a town in Germany. This town is close to the city of Cologne.
Tibor's Basketball Journey
Starting in Europe
Tibor Pleiß began his professional basketball career in 2006. He was only 17 years old when he joined RheinEnergie Köln in the German Bundesliga. He played with this team for three years.
After that, he moved to another German team, the Brose Baskets, where he played for three more years.
In 2012, Tibor decided to play in Spain. He signed a four-year contract with Saski Baskonia, a well-known team in the Liga ACB. He played very well there, averaging 12.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in one season. He left Baskonia after two years.
In 2014, he joined another big Spanish club, FC Barcelona. He played one season there before deciding to try playing in the NBA.
Playing in the NBA
Tibor Pleiß was chosen in the 2010 NBA draft. This is when NBA teams pick new players. His rights were traded a few times, and eventually, the Utah Jazz got his rights in 2015.
On 14 July 2015, Tibor signed a contract with the Utah Jazz. He played his first NBA game on 30 October 2015. During his time with the Jazz, he also played for their minor league team, the Idaho Stampede, to get more playing time.
In August 2016, Tibor was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, but he was released by them a few days later.
Back to Europe
After his time in the NBA, Tibor Pleiß returned to Europe.
- In September 2016, he signed with Galatasaray, a team in Turkey.
- In 2017, he moved back to Spain to play for Valencia Basket.
- In 2018, he joined Anadolu Efes S.K. in Turkey. He played there for six successful years, winning many championships. He became a two-time EuroLeague champion with Anadolu Efes in 2021 and 2022. He also won the Turkish League three times.
- In August 2024, he signed with Trapani Shark in Italy.
- In February 2025, Tibor briefly joined Panathinaikos, a team that had won the EuroLeague. He reunited with his former coach there.
- In July 2025, Panathinaikos announced that Tibor was released from the team. He then returned to Trapani Shark.
Playing for Germany
Tibor Pleiß has been an important player for the German national basketball team. He played for Germany's junior teams when he was younger.
He joined the senior national team in 2009 and has played in several big tournaments, including the 2010 FIBA World Championship and multiple EuroBasket championships. He was often the starting center for Germany.
