Playing with Dad: A Special Game

They were playing for the Orioles against the Boston Red Sox. The Orioles lost the game 5–4. This was a rare event in baseball history. They became only the second father-son duo to play in the same Major League Baseball game. The first pair to do this was Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr.. They played together for the Seattle Mariners in 1990.
After the Orioles
After playing for the Orioles, Tim Jr. continued his baseball career. In 2009, he signed a contract with the Chicago White Sox. Later that same year, he also signed with the Kansas City Royals. These were minor league contracts.
In 2011, Tim Raines Jr. played for the Newark Bears team. This team was part of the Can-Am League. His own father, Tim Raines Sr., was the manager for the Newark Bears at that time.
Coaching Career
In 2017, Tim Raines Jr. started a new role in baseball. The Baltimore Orioles named him the hitting coach for one of their minor league teams. This team was the Aberdeen IronBirds. The IronBirds are a "Short-Season A" affiliate team. This means they play a shorter schedule than other minor league teams. As a hitting coach, Tim Jr. helps players improve their batting skills.
