Tim Reese is an American leader who served as the Treasurer of Pennsylvania. He held this important state job from 2015 to 2017. As Treasurer, he managed the state's money and helped make sure Pennsylvania's finances were in good shape.

Early Life and Education

Tim Reese studied at Temple University. He earned a degree called a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering & Electronics Technology. This means he learned about how electricity works and how to build electronic systems. He also spent time as a Fellow at Temple University's Fox School of Business, where he learned more about business and finance.

Career as Treasurer

In 2015, the previous Treasurer, Rob McCord, left his job. Governor Wolf then chose Tim Reese to take over this important role. As the Treasurer for Pennsylvania, Tim Reese was like the chief manager of the state's money department.

Managing State Finances

He was in charge of a large budget, which was more than $40 million. He also led a team of about 350 employees. His job included making sure the state's money was handled carefully. He also led the Board of Finance and Revenue. This board chooses which banks the state uses and sets interest rates for state money. They also hear appeals about state taxes.

This group helps connect investors with companies owned by women, minorities, and military veterans. In 2017, he spoke at an event called Philly Tech Week. He talked about how important it is for new businesses, especially those started by minorities, to have a good business plan.
