Tim Reese's Early Life and School

Tim Reese studied at Temple University. He earned a special degree called a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering & Electronics Technology. Tim Reese's Career and Public Service

Becoming Pennsylvania's Treasurer

In 2015, the previous Treasurer, Rob McCord, left his job. Governor Wolf then chose Tim Reese to become the new Treasurer. As the Treasurer of Pennsylvania, Tim Reese was in charge of the state's money department. He managed a budget of over $40 million and led about 350 employees.

He also led the Board of Finance and Revenue. This board chooses which banks the state uses to keep its money. It also decides how much interest the state earns on its deposits. Plus, it helps decide on state tax appeals.

Helping Pennsylvania During Tough Times

During a time when Pennsylvania was facing a budget crisis, Tim Reese worked hard to prevent the state from running out of money. He helped avoid a financial shutdown. He also led a special committee that changed how over $1 billion of the state's money was invested. He used new ways to invest this money wisely.

He started a program to help new and growing investment companies. He also invested in projects that helped build affordable homes, supported small businesses, and improved roads and bridges. He created a special program to help small businesses by working with both public and private groups. Tim Reese also started a training program for his staff. This program helped employees learn new skills and grow in their careers.

Before Becoming Treasurer

Tim Reese started his career at a company called Honeywell. There, he used computer programs to help the paper industry. He was responsible for making sure new products and production lines started working smoothly.

From 1993 to 2015, before becoming Treasurer, Tim Reese worked with many new technology companies. He held important jobs like manager of information systems, senior vice president, chief technology officer, chief finance officer, and chief executive officer.

Tim Reese's Personal Life

Tim Reese is married to Sara, and they have three children. In 2012, he started a group called the National Minority Angel Network. This group helps connect investors with companies owned by women, minorities, and military veterans. In 2017, he spoke at an event called Philly Tech Week. He talked about how important it is for new businesses, especially those started by minorities, to have a good business plan.
