Early Life and Music Journey
Tsimafei Andreevich Marozau was born on October 1, 1998, in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus. His mother was a music teacher, and his father was an opera singer. This meant Tima grew up surrounded by music. His mother often played music by the English musician Sting. His father enjoyed the music of guitarist and pianist Leonid Agutin. Tima's father also regularly sang and played the piano at home. After his parents separated when he was three, his father took him on tours to Germany every summer.
Tima says he always loved music. When he was six, his parents took him to a music school. They showed him different instruments, and he chose to play the cello. Even though he never played sports professionally, he really liked football when he was in primary school. He slowly lost interest in sports and focused more on music. Before becoming famous, he also worked selling ice cream, as a dockworker, and as a server at a restaurant when his hit song "Wet Sneakers" came out.
After finishing primary school, Tima started studying at the Belarusian State Academy of Music. However, he soon moved to a college that focused on languages. After finishing school, he began studying for an art degree, but he only attended for less than a semester. He usually got good grades in school.
Becoming a Music Star
In 2016, Tima's current record label, Kaufman Label, held auditions at a club in Minsk called Re:Public. Tima performed, but only one of the three judges voted for him. After listening to other artists, the label's manager asked the judges to listen to Tima's song "RASSVET" again. They liked it but felt it needed to be changed. Eventually, they contacted Tima very late at night to invite him to the studio.
Tima chose his stage name, Tima Belorusskih, because he wanted to stay connected to Belarus. This was important to him, even as he became popular in other countries.
Personal Life
Tima prefers to keep his personal life private and separate from his music career. Because of this, he is rarely seen with his girlfriend in public. However, in 2019, a Russian newspaper reported that he has a daughter named Sofia, who was born in 2015.
