Toby Tyler; or, Ten Weeks with a Circus is a classic children's novel. It was written by an American author named James Otis, whose real name was James Otis Kaler.

This exciting story first appeared in parts in a magazine called Harper's Young People in 1877. Later, it was published as a full book in 1881. A follow-up book, called Mr. Stubb's Brother, came out in 1883.
