Toledo (Spanish pronunciation: [toˈleðo]) is a town and a "municipality" in Colombia. A municipality is like a local government area. It is located in the Norte de Santander Department, which is like a state or province.
Toledo is right on the border with the Boyacá Department. An important part of Toledo is the development of natural gas in a smaller area called Gibraltar. In August 2011, a pipeline was finished. This pipeline carries natural gas from Gibraltar all the way to Bucaramanga.

Toledo is made up of the main town and several smaller areas called corregimientos or townships. These are like small communities or villages that belong to the main municipality.

Toledo's Climate
Toledo has a very wet climate that is common in highland areas. This means it gets a lot of rain throughout the year.
The heaviest rain usually falls from April to October. Even in the drier months, like November to February, it still rains quite a bit.
