History of Tolombón
The exact date when Tolombón was first settled is not known. However, we do know that this area has a long and interesting past.
Ancient Times: Inca Rule
Around the year 1480, the powerful Inca Empire expanded its control into this region. The Incas were a large civilization from the Andes Mountains in South America. They conquered many lands and people, including the area where Tolombón is located today. The Incas built a vast network of roads and managed their empire with great skill.
Arrival of the Conquistadors
Just a few decades later, in 1535, a new group arrived: the Spanish Conquistadors. These were explorers and soldiers from Spain who came to the Americas. They were looking for new lands and riches. The Conquistadors invaded Tolombón, changing the lives of the people who lived there forever. This marked the beginning of Spanish influence in the region.
