Tolona, Missouri facts for kids
Tolona is a small place in Missouri, a state in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and people living together, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Lewis County.
The Story of Tolona
Tolona started in 1872. It was named by people who worked for the postal service, which delivers mail. In that same year, a post office was opened in Tolona, helping people send and receive letters and packages. This post office stayed open for many years, until 1938. Before it was called Tolona, some people knew this area by another name: "Blue Grass."
