Tommy G. Boswell (born October 2, 1953) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played as a forward and center. Boswell was 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 meters) tall. He played for six seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a member of the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, and Utah Jazz. Boswell won an NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics in 1976. He also played for the U.S. men's national basketball team. With the national team, he won a bronze medal in the 1974 FIBA World Championship.

Tom Boswell's Basketball Journey

Tom Boswell was born in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1953. He started his basketball journey in high school. He attended George Washington Carver High School. After high school, he played college basketball.

College Basketball Years

Boswell played for two different colleges. From 1971 to 1973, he played for South Carolina State. Later, from 1974 to 1975, he played for the University of South Carolina. His skills in college helped him get noticed by professional teams.

Playing in the NBA

In 1975, Tom Boswell was chosen in the NBA draft. The Boston Celtics picked him as the 17th player overall. He played for the Celtics from 1975 to 1977. During his time with the Celtics, he achieved a major goal. He helped the team win the NBA championship in 1976. This was a big moment in his career.

After playing for the Celtics, Boswell joined the Denver Nuggets. He played for them from 1978 to 1979. He then moved to the Utah Jazz in 1979. He returned to the Jazz for another season in 1983. In his NBA career, he scored an average of 7.7 points per game. He also grabbed 4.7 rebounds and made 1.6 assists per game.
