Tom Jordan (born 1937 – died 29 June 2019) was an Irish actor. He was most famous for playing the character Charlie Kelly in the Irish TV show Fair City. He played this role for 30 years, from when the show started in 1989 until he passed away in 2019.

Tom Jordan had a long and interesting career in acting. He worked in theatre and television for many years.

Early Acting Work

From 1968 to 1972, Tom was part of the RTÉ Players, a group of actors who worked for the Irish national broadcaster. He was also one of the people who helped start the Project Arts Centre, a well-known arts venue in Dublin. For 12 years, he worked with a group called World Theatre Productions.

Leading a Theatre

Tom Jordan also had a big role as the artistic director of the Lyric Theatre in Belfast. He held this important job from 1987 to 1988. As an artistic director, he was in charge of choosing plays and guiding the theatre's creative work. People who worked with him remember that he always stood up for actors' rights.
