Tom Mauchahty-Ware (born March 21, 1949, died November 3, 2015) was a talented musician from the Kiowa and Comanche tribes. He was especially famous for playing the Native American flute. Tom was also a great dancer and sang in a popular blues band.
He was a skilled artist too. He enjoyed painting, sculpting, and making his own flutes. He also did beautiful bead working and feather working. Tom was related to a very famous Kiowa flutist named Belo Cozad. He made two music albums: Flute Songs of the Kiowa and Comanche (1978) and The Traditional and Contemporary Indian Flute of Tom Mauchahty Ware (1983).
