Tomas Northug is a talented Norwegian cross-country skier. He was born on April 19, 1990, in Mosvik Municipality, Norway. He is known for being the middle brother of two other famous skiers, Petter Northug and Even Northug.
Tomas has achieved great success in his skiing career. He won a World Cup race in January 2015. He also became a Junior World Champion in 2010, showing his skills from a young age. He competed for sports clubs like Mosvik IL and Strindheim IL.

Early Skiing Days
Tomas Northug started his skiing journey early. He quickly showed promise in cross-country skiing. His hard work led him to compete in important junior events.
Junior World Championships
Tomas had a very successful time at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships. In 2009, he won a bronze medal. This was for the 4 × 5 km relay race in Praz de Lys-Sommand.
The next year, 2010, was even better for him. At the Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten, he won two gold medals! He took gold in the individual sprint event. He also helped his team win gold in the 4 × 5 km relay. These wins showed he was a rising star in the sport.
World Cup Highlights
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup is a series of top-level races. Skiers from all over the world compete in these events. Tomas Northug competed in the World Cup for six seasons, from 2010 to 2015.
First World Cup Victory
Tomas achieved a big milestone in his career in January 2015. He won his first-ever World Cup race. This victory happened in Otepää, Estonia. He finished first in the 1.5 km Sprint C race. This was his only World Cup victory and podium finish.
Season Performances
Throughout his World Cup career, Tomas focused mainly on sprint races. His best overall ranking in the World Cup was 32nd in the 2014–15 season. In the sprint standings, he achieved an impressive 7th place in the same 2014–15 season.

2015 World Championships
In 2015, Tomas Northug took part in the World Championships. He competed in the men's sprint race. He finished in a strong 6th place. This was a great achievement at such a high-level competition.
