Tomasz Pacyński (born February 4, 1958 – died May 30, 2005) was a talented writer from Poland. He was known for writing exciting stories in the fantasy and science fiction genres. Tomasz was born in Warsaw, the capital city of Poland.
He was also one of the people who started Fahrenheit, which was the very first Polish Internet science fiction fanzine. A fanzine is like a magazine made by fans, for fans! From 2004, he became the main editor of Fahrenheit.
Who Was Tomasz Pacyński?
Tomasz Pacyński was a creative Polish writer. He loved to explore worlds of magic and future technologies in his stories. He shared his short stories in many magazines, like Science Fiction, SFera, and Fantasy. He also wrote for online fanzines such as Fahrenheit, Esensja, Fantazin, and Srebrny Glob. Besides stories, he wrote articles for SFera and Science Fiction magazines.
His Writing Career
Tomasz Pacyński started his journey as a fantasy writer in 2001. His first novel was called Sherwood. This book was based on the famous legends of Robin Hood, a hero who lived in a forest.
He wrote a total of four novels. Three of these were part of the Sherwood fantasy trilogy. A trilogy means a series of three books that tell one big story. His other novel was Wrzesień, which means September. This book was a post-apocalyptic political fiction story.

Tomasz Pacyński also wrote many short stories. Both his novels, Sherwood and Wrzesień, were nominated for a special award called the Janusz A. Zajdel Award. This award celebrates the best Polish science fiction and fantasy works.
