What the Movie is About
The story of Tomboy and the Champ is about a brave young girl named Tommie Jo Layne. She lives in Texas. Tommie Jo gets very sick with polio. This illness makes her weak. But caring for her special pet calf helps her stay strong and hopeful.
Tommie Jo decides to enter her calf in a big competition. It's called the Chicago International Exposition. Her calf does very well and wins the contest! However, Tommie Jo soon learns some sad news. Her beloved calf will be sold at an auction. It might even go to a slaughterhouse.
Luckily, a kind meat packer steps in to help. He makes sure that Tommie Jo and her calf can stay together. It's a happy ending for the girl and her animal friend.
