Tomotaka Kitamura's Football Journey
Tomotaka Kitamura was born in Yokkaichi, Japan, on May 27, 1982. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career. In 2001, he joined Yokohama FC. This team had just moved up to the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest professional football division.
Playing for Yokohama FC
During his first year at Yokohama FC, Tomotaka played in many games. He was a forward, meaning he tried to score goals. He also played as an offensive midfielder, helping to create scoring chances. Even though the team didn't do very well for a few years, things changed in 2006. Yokohama FC won the championship in the 2006 season. This win meant they were promoted to the J1 League, Japan's top football division. However, Tomotaka left the club at the end of 2006. So, he didn't get to play for Yokohama FC in the J1 League.
Moving to Montedio Yamagata
In 2007, Tomotaka moved to another J2 League team, Montedio Yamagata. Here, he became a regular player, which means he played in most of the team's games. He was a key forward for them. In 2008, Montedio Yamagata finished second in the J2 League. This great performance also earned them a promotion to the J1 League.
Tomotaka continued to play regularly for Montedio Yamagata in the J1 League. However, in 2011, the team struggled and finished last. They were then moved back down to the J2 League. In 2012, Tomotaka didn't play as much for Montedio Yamagata.
Final Years and Retirement
In 2013, Tomotaka Kitamura moved to a local team called Veertien Kuwana. This team played in the Japanese Prefectural Leagues, which are lower-level leagues. He played one season there and then decided to retire from professional football at the end of 2013.
