Lester B. Pearson International Airport, also known as Toronto Pearson International Airport (or just Pearson Airport or Toronto Pearson), is a big airport that handles flights from all over the world. It's located in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada. The airport is about 22.5 kilometers (14 miles) northwest of downtown Toronto, in a city called Mississauga. This important airport is named after Lester B. Pearson, who won the Nobel Peace Prize and was the 14th Prime Minister of Canada.

Who Was Lester B. Pearson?

Lester B. Pearson was a very important person in Canadian history. He was born in 1897 and became the 14th Prime Minister of Canada in 1963. A Prime Minister is the leader of the Canadian government. Before becoming Prime Minister, Pearson was a diplomat, which means he worked to solve problems between different countries.

Pearson won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957. This special award is given to people who have done amazing things to promote peace in the world. He received it for his work in helping to solve the Suez Crisis, a big international problem. He suggested creating a special United Nations peacekeeping force to help keep peace, and this idea was very successful. Naming the airport after him honors his contributions to Canada and to world peace.

Many different ways exist to get to Toronto Pearson Airport. Buses like GO Transit and TTC buses offer rides to and from the airport. There are also special train services that connect the airport to downtown Toronto, making it easy for travelers to reach their flights.
