Playing Career Highlights
Toru Miyamoto was born in Shimonoseki, Japan, on December 3, 1982. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey. In 2001, he joined Avispa Fukuoka, a team in the top Japanese league, J1 League.
His first game was on July 7, 2001, where he played as a right side back. This was against the team Nagoya Grampus. However, he only played in this one match during his first year. Avispa Fukuoka was then moved down to the J2 League, which is the second division.
Miyamoto started playing more often from 2003. By 2005, he became a regular player, usually playing as a center back. That same year, Avispa Fukuoka moved back up to the J1 League. Even though the team went back to J2 the next year, Miyamoto continued to play in many games until 2007.
After 2008, he had fewer chances to play. In August 2009, he moved to Tochigi SC. This team had just been promoted to the J2 League. Miyamoto quickly became a regular center back there. He played in almost every game in the 2009 season, missing only one due to a suspension.
However, in 2010, he didn't play as much. In 2011, he joined Giravanz Kitakyushu. He was a regular player for this team until 2013. From 2014, his playing time decreased again. Toru Miyamoto decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2015 season.
