Toshihiro Matsushita was born in Kagoshima, Japan, on October 17, 1983. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey.
Early Career: Gamba Osaka
In 2002, Matsushita joined Gamba Osaka, a top team in the J1 League. He played as a right-side midfielder. He got to play in some matches each season. In 2005, he played more often, often coming in as a substitute. However, in 2006, he played very little.
Moving to Albirex Niigata
In June 2006, Matsushita moved to Albirex Niigata. He continued to play as a substitute midfielder. By 2008, he became a regular player for the team. He played as an offensive midfielder, helping the team attack. He stayed with Albirex Niigata until 2009.
Time at FC Tokyo
In 2010, Matsushita joined FC Tokyo. He played in many games at the start of the season. However, his playing time became less frequent later that year.
Success with Vegalta Sendai
Matsushita moved to Vegalta Sendai in 2011. This was a very successful period for him. He played many matches as both an offensive and defensive midfielder.
