The "Dismantled Sculptures" Series
Totte Mannes created an exciting new series of oil paintings called "Dismantled Sculptures." She describes these paintings as "de-structivist." This means they explore ideas of taking things apart, which is different from "con-structivist" art that focuses on building things up.
The very first painting from the 'Dismantled Sculptures' series was shown in Madrid, Spain. It was at the Finnish Institute from February 14 to March 13. After that, the painting traveled to the Uusitalo Gallery in Helsinki, Finland, where it was displayed starting July 2, 2008.
This amazing series, which includes about 40 paintings, then went on a tour. It visited several art museums in Mexico during 2008 and 2009. Some of these museums included the San Pedro Museum in Puebla, the Tlaxcala Art Museum, and the Querétaro Municipal Museum. The series also appeared at Gumbostrand konst o. Form in Finland from 2013 to 2014, and at the Art Madrid Fair in 2014.
