Toychestra is a unique music group from Oakland, California. All the members are women. They create music using toy instruments and other fun noise-making toys!
This group plays their own songs. They also perform their own versions of music by other artists. These artists range from classical composers like Dvořák to punk bands like Black Flag.
Toychestra has played at many places in the San Francisco Bay Area. They have also traveled to Europe three times to perform. They have released three music CDs. One of their albums, What Leave Behind, was made with the famous guitarist Fred Frith.
