Toyohito Mochizuki was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on September 18, 1953. He grew up to become a professional soccer player. He played as a defender, which is a player whose main job is to stop the other team from scoring goals.
Playing for Clubs
After finishing his studies at Tokyo University of Agriculture, Toyohito Mochizuki joined a soccer club called Fujitsu. At that time, Fujitsu was in Division 2 of the Japan Soccer League.
In 1976, his team, Fujitsu, won the championship for Division 2. This big win meant they were promoted to Division 1. Being promoted means their team moved up to play against the best teams in the league.
Playing for Japan
Toyohito Mochizuki also had the chance to play for his country. He joined the Japan national team.
His first game for Japan was on July 21, 1978, against the Malaysian team. Just two days later, on July 23, he played another game against the Singapore team. These were the only two games he played for Japan in 1978.
