Tracey Hannah, born on June 13, 1988, in Cairns, Australia, is a professional downhill bike rider. She started racing BMX bikes at just 4 years old! Tracey became interested in mountain biking (MTB) in 1997. This happened after she saw her older brother, Mick Hannah, racing super fast down a hill.
When Tracey was 13, her parents let her try downhill riding. By the time she was 14, she was already competing in national championships. She even took second place in her first elite race! For seven years, Tracey was the Australian National Champion. After that, she began racing all over the world. She won the NORBA Series overall, became a Junior World Champion, and placed third in both a World Cup overall and the Elite World Championships. She also won a World Cup Round.
In 2012, Tracey had a great year, finishing first and second in two World Cup Series rounds. She ended up fourth overall. However, she missed the last two rounds due to a serious crash. During practice for the sixth round, she fell and had to be taken to the hospital by helicopter. She broke her femur (the big bone in your thigh) and collarbone, and also bruised a lung.
After recovering from her injury, Tracey raced again seven months later in February 2013. This was the Australian National Championships, and she won first place! She became the National Champion for 2013.
