Tracy Weber was an American singer. She is best known for her dance song "Sure Shot." This song became a hit in late 1981. Sadly, Tracy passed away before her song was officially released.
Nicky Braddy and Richard Bassoff wrote "Sure Shot" for Tracy to sing. Nicky and Tracy had grown up together in Queens, New York. Eric Matthew and Gary Turnier produced the song as a special 12-inch disco single.
"Sure Shot" became very popular in dance clubs. It reached number 3 on the Billboard Disco Top 60 chart in February 1982. This chart lists the most popular dance songs in the United States. The song was even named one of the top 25 dance club records in San Francisco. Famous DJ Larry Levan played the song often in New York City. He even made his own special dance mix of "Sure Shot." In France, a newspaper called Le Figaro praised "Sure Shot." They called it a great summer dance hit. They also said Tracy was a charming young lady with a "voice of fire."
