Tre Simmons (born July 24, 1982) is an American who used to play professional basketball. Now, he is a coach. He played college basketball at three different schools: Odessa, Green River CC, and the University of Washington. After college, he played basketball in many countries like Greece, Spain, Israel, and France. In 2013, Tre Simmons was even named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the EuroChallenge Final Four.

College Basketball Career

Tre Simmons played college basketball for several teams. He started at Odessa College and then played for Green River Community College. Later, he joined the University of Washington team. During the 2004–05 season, he was recognized as one of the best players. He was named to the First Team of the All-Pac-10.

Professional Basketball Journey

Simmons began his professional basketball career in 2006. He first played for a team called PAOK in Greece.

Playing in Spain and Israel

After Greece, he moved to Spain to play for Gran Canaria during the 2006–07 season. However, he soon moved to Israel. There, he joined the Hapoel Galil Elyon team. The next season, he played for Hapoel Holon and helped them win the league championship.

Joining Top Teams

For the 2008–09 season, Tre Simmons joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, a well-known team that plays in the Euroleague. The following season (2009–10), he signed with Hapoel Jerusalem.

Success in Czech Republic and Russia

From 2010 to 2012, Simmons played for ČEZ Nymburk in the Czech Republic. He had great success there, winning both the Czech National Championship and the Czech National Cup twice. In June 2012, he moved to Russia to play for Krasnye Krylya Samara. He helped them win the Russian Basketball Cup and the EuroChallenge in 2013. He was even named the MVP of the EuroChallenge Final Four that year. In July 2013, he returned to ČEZ Nymburk.

Later Career Teams

On May 29, 2015, he signed with Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico. Later that year, on November 29, 2015, he joined Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel. In August 2016, he signed with the French team Antibes Sharks.

Final Season in Israel

On December 18, 2017, Tre Simmons returned to Israel for a third time. He signed with Hapoel Afula for the rest of the season. He played his first game with them the very next day. He scored 22 points, showing he was still a strong player. On November 8, 2018, he announced that he was retiring from playing professional basketball.

Coaching Career Begins

After his playing career, Tre Simmons started coaching. On July 25, 2023, he was hired to be an assistant coach. He joined the staff of Kelly Graves for the Oregon Ducks women's basketball team.
