Trenton Corners is a small place in Illinois that doesn't have its own local government. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's part of a larger area called Persifer Township in Knox County.
Trenton Corners is located west of the Spoon River. You can find it where U.S. Highway 150 meets Knox County Highway 15.
A Look at Its History
Long ago, there was a town here called Trenton. It was a place where early settlers lived.
The Arrival of the Railroad
In 1888, something big happened: the Santa Fe Railway built its tracks north of Trenton. This changed everything! Many businesses and people decided to move closer to the new railroad. They moved to a new town called Dahinda. Because of this, Trenton became less important and eventually faded away.
What's There Now?
Even though Trenton Corners used to have small businesses, none are left today. However, some important local places are still located nearby.
