Trevor Żahra is a super famous writer, poet, and artist from Malta. He was born on December 16, 1947. He has written over 120 books in the Maltese language. Many of his books are for children, and he even draws the pictures himself!

Who is Trevor Żahra?

Trevor Żahra was born in a town called Żejtun in Malta. For more than 30 years, he worked as a school teacher. He taught both art and the Maltese language to students.

He got married to Stella Agius in 1971. They had two children, a son named Ruben and a daughter named Marija. Sadly, Stella passed away in 1989.

His First Book

In 1971, Trevor Żahra published his very first book. It was an adventure story for children. The book was called Il-Pulena tad-Deheb. This means "The Golden Figurehead" in Maltese.

Since then, he has written more than 120 books! He writes all kinds of books. These include stories for kids and adults, short stories, and poems. He also writes workbooks and translates other books. He is the best-selling Maltese author ever!

An Artist and Illustrator

Trevor Żahra is not just a writer. He is also a talented artist! He draws all the pictures for his children's books. This makes his stories even more special.

He also designed some special postage stamps for MaltaPost in 2001. These stamps were part of the EUROPA series.

Awards and Honors

Trevor Żahra has won many awards for his amazing books. He has won Malta's national literary prize a record 15 times! That's a lot of awards!
